This August, GEN Europe held its annual General Assembly in Ängsbacka, Sweden, coinciding with the European Ecovillage Gathering. 87 delegates from 48 vibrant ecovillages, transnational & national networks, and ecoprojects gathered to reconnect, exchange ideas, and collaborate on shaping the future of our movement.

The summer Iberian Ecovillage Network Gathering seems like a distant memory as I write these lines on a rainy autumn evening in Germany. Yet, it was held just a month ago, during some sweltering summer days in the Spanish community of Arterra Bizimodu, located in the northern region of Navarra. This training invites recognition of the predicament we are facing as humanity, and helps to envision alternatives to the current socio-economic system through games, exercises, and stories.
