Fundraising for ecovillages in Ukraine

We are now able to accept funds for supporting ecovillages in Ukraine. Ecovillages and other eco-settlements are right now hosting large numbers of refugees and need support to create safe, warm, hygienic spaces to house and feed people seeking shelter. With the initial aim of providing safe centres for at least 500 people, as well as creating a ‘green corridor’ where people can travel from one safe centre to the other on their way to the borders, Ukrainian ecovillages are now (as of 17th March) hosting over 1000 refugees. GEN Ukraine has also created the ECOMAP, a map of ecovillages and other sustainable settlements both inside and outside Ukraine that are offering to host.

We are collecting funds through GEN Europe and will be passing these funds on to our trusted contacts in GEN Ukraine, with whom we are in daily contact.

The funds will be used for:

  • Food, medicine and hygiene products
  • Sleeping bags, blankets and mattresses
  • Fuel to transfer people to ecovillages
  • Hobs and pots for food preparation/serving
  • Heaters and stoves
  • Routers/antennas
  • Refrigerators and dishwashers

And similar items that are necessary for safe, hygienic and comfortable housing for large numbers of people. Please be assured that no money will be used to support any military or armed actions of any kind.
