Call for Junior Project Developer Volunteer – Horizon Europe

GEN Europe is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Project Developer Volunteer to support the development of Horizon Europe proposals under the upcoming 2025 Work Programme. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in European project development, contribute to impactful work on sustainable and community-led solutions, and collaborate with an inspiring international network.
🕒 Time Commitment:
Voluntary basis | Approx. 5–10 hours/week
(starting smaller and increasing gradually)
Start date: As soon as possible, no later than Monday 9th June 2025
End date: Mid-september or mid-november, according to call deadlines
🔎 Main Responsibilities:
- Assist the GEN Europe team in researching and preparing Horizon project proposals
- Support coordination with partners and stakeholders within and beyond the GEN Europe network
- Contribute to the drafting and revision of proposal content
- Help with documentation, timelines, and funding opportunity tracking
- Participate in internal meetings and collaborative planning processes
✅ We are looking for someone who:
- Has at least a basic knowledge of the ecovillage movement and the mission of GEN Europe
- Is organized, reliable, and communicative
- Can work independently and as part of a remote team
- Is available for 5–10 hours a week with flexibility across the engagement period
🌿 Desirable qualifications and experience:
- Background in rural development, social innovation, stakeholder engagement, circular economy, bioeconomy, or biodiversity
- Previous experience with European funding programmes (particularly Horizon Europe)
- Currently pursuing or having completed a university degree in a related field
