COMMUNITIES OF HOPE: The brand new ecovillage documentary

When Lou and Diego of The Great Relation Films approached us a year ago about shooting some footage at the European Ecovillage Gathering in Bagnaia that summer, we were instantly curious.

They’d recently launched a beautiful video of the Ecovillage Design Education course at Schloss Glarisegg in Switzerland, and their project of documenting regenerative projects around the world deeply resonated with our vision.

Since then, we have been working closely with them on a project that has grown and evolved, taking shape into something we hope will spread the seeds of ecovillage living far and wide.

As the culmination of this journey, we are thrilled to announce the launch of COMMUNITIES OF HOPE, a stunning half-hour documentary that takes us on a journey around the mandala of regeneration: how ecovillages relate to the social, economic, ecological and cultural dimensions of sustainability. Featuring communities including Tamera (Portugal), Sunseed (Spain) and Solheimar (Iceland) and interviews with key members of the eocvillage movement, it offers pathways towards a new way of seeing the world, and a new way of living together.

We invite you to watch and share the trailer here and visit the documentary website to learn more. The full documentary will premiere online on June 4th 2020 with a special screening followed by discussion and Q&A with Diego and Lou as well as some of the ecovillagers featured in the film. There will be further screenings with subtitles and conversation in many other languages – contact us if you are interested in hosting a screening in your language.
