Becoming a full Ecovillage Member of GEN Europe offers you new benefits!
As part of the membership package, full members can enjoy up to six delegate tickets. And actually right from the application stage, you are already invited to bring up to six delegates (depending on the number of members) to participate in our General Assembly and the Gathering. Furthermore, every full member will receive a membership certificate, recognizing your ongoing support and dedication.
And most importantly, full members will have the opportunity to exercise actual voting rights at the General Assembly, enabling you to directly influence the direction of our organization.

Before filling out the application form, just a couple of reminders 🙂

Application Deadline: Please keep in mind that the deadline for submitting your full membership application form is six weeks prior to our upcoming General Assembly (GA). This ensures we have enough time to give your application the attention it deserves before the GA begins.

Renewed Written Endorsement: Alongside your application, we’ll need a renewed written endorsement from your buddy community or network. This endorsement isn’t just a formality; it’s a beautiful reaffirmation of your shared values and commitment to our ecovillage family. Be sure to include it with your application to make it complete.

Still not sure if you meet the Full Ecovillage Membership Criteria?


Take a look at the criteria that you will now need to meet…

  1. Have at least 10 community members of which 7 should be permanent non-family related adult***
  2. Residents living together on the chosen site for at least 2 years
  3. Manage the land and/or real estate in joint legal form (association/cooperative etc.) that is, as an independent legal entity, while exceptions can be made when the legal environment of the – community does not allow for joint legal forms
  4. Include environmentally friendly building, consumption, production and recycling practices
  5. Have attended the General Assembly as an aspiring member at least once
  6. Renewed written endorsement by their buddy community/network


**permanent = A member is considered as permanent if the community is their physical home and/or has its official address registered. Community members that are spending a lot of time outside of their community due to work commitments and travels etc., are only considered permanent if the community is their single and regular place of return upon travels.
***family related adults = adults that are first-degree relatives by blood
