A Heartfelt Journey of Renewal: Findhorn’s New Story

In Findhorn, a community deeply impacted by Brexit, COVID-19, and energy challenges, resilience shines through adversity. Devastated by the loss of their community center and sanctuary to fire, they faced further setbacks as operations ceased in November 2023, marking the winding down of the Findhorn Foundation.

But from these ashes hope and determination rises and in May 2023, the Ecovillage Findhorn Community Benefit Society (EF) emerged, guided by elected community leaders and supported by 370 passionate members.
Together, they are igniting a renewal, fuelled by the belief that community love can prevail. With an 95% approval from members, EF is gearing up to purchase the bulk of The Park from the Findhorn Foundation for £1.15 million.

This milestone marks a historic shift as the community democratically assumes stewardship of The Park. Plans include rebuilding the Community Centre, acquiring the Universal Hall, and establishing spaces for spiritual and ecological education. Their vision extends to sustainable stewardship, ensuring The Park benefits all.

PS: The New Findhorn Association (NFA) which is the official members organization of GEN Europe, is the community association for individuals and organisations since 1998.
They also just launched a new website, giving a wonderful and new fresh impression of the Community.
