Harvesting Resistance: Nonviolent Solidarity in Farkha, Palestine 3 – 14 November 2026
The olive groves of Farkha, the first ecovillage in Palestine, are ready for harvest. Located in the West Bank, this village is issuing a call for companions to join them in bringing in the crop – a deeply rooted cultural practice and a vital source of livelihood that stands as an expression of Palestinian resilience under occupation.
This is an invitation to make solidarity tangible by working alongside Palestinian families, listening, learning, and supporting their connection to the land. International presence here offers practical support, visibility, and a degree of protection, but it is guided firmly by nonviolence. Protective presence does not mean seeking confrontation; it means being attentive, acting collectively, and following the guidance of the local community.
Life in the Farkha Ecovillage
Participants will stay with families in Farkha, living in simple conditions and contributing directly to the daily rhythm of the harvest. Depending on local needs, work may be done as one large group or in smaller teams. Beyond the physical labor, time in the village includes:
- Cultural evenings and encounters with locals
- Meetings with Palestinian activists and international solidarity groups
- Daily social check-ins and shared reflection
- Coordination for the days ahead
The aim is to foster a group culture based on trust, responsibility, mutual care, and political clarity.

- Arrival in Farkha: 3 November 2026
- Beginning of the harvest: 5 November 2026
- Departure: 14 November 2026
Everyone is responsible for organizing and paying for their own travel to the meeting point in Farkha. Routes and arrival logistics will be discussed during preparation calls.
Costs & Accommodation:
- €25 per person per day: This contribution goes directly to the host families and covers simple accommodation and food. Budget separately for personal expenses and local transport.
- €100 participation fee (non-refundable): Secures your place and helps cover preparation, coordination, and facilitation costs.

Who Should Answer the Call?
This journey is for those who:
- Feel a sincere commitment to solidarity with the Palestinian people
- Are committed to a strictly nonviolent approach
- Can live respectfully in simple conditions
- Are willing and able to take part in physical work
- Are ready to listen, learn, and take responsibility
- Will follow the guidance of their Palestinian hosts
- Can participate in all three mandatory preparation calls
This is not a conventional tourist trip. It requires flexibility, sensitivity, and a willingness to encounter realities that may be difficult or painful.
Preparation Calls
To prepare politically, emotionally, and practically, three obligatory Zoom meetings will be held (times in Portugal time zone):
- 28 August 2026 | 3:00 – 5:00 pm
- 25 September 2026 | 3:00 – 5:00 pm
- 30 October 2026 | 3:00 – 5:00 pm
Confirmed participants will be added to a Signal group for ongoing coordination.
Safety and Responsibility
Travel to and within the West Bank involves uncertainty. Checkpoints, road closures, entry restrictions, and shifting political situations may affect plans. Participation is voluntary and at each person’s own responsibility. Everyone must arrange necessary travel documents, appropriate insurance, and check current entry requirements. Decisions on the ground will be based on the guidance, needs, and safety of the Palestinian families being supported.

The call to Farkha is not made because outside presence alone can solve the political situation. It is made because remaining passive is no longer an option. The goal is to stand alongside Palestinian families, help bring in the harvest, witness their reality, and strengthen the international network of people committed to justice and nonviolent resistance.
