Funded volunteering in German ecovillages
Looking for a new challenge in 2023? If you’re under 30 and an EU resident, you’re eligible for the European Solidarity Corps, a funded volunteering programme which many ecovillages take part in. Here are two new opportunities in German ecovillages – a fantastic chance to get to know the world of ecovillages first hand.
Sonnenwald: 15th Febuary for one year. The mission of Gemeinschaft Sonnenwald, a community of around 60 people, is to develop a sustainable way of life in which social, ecological, economic and cultural elements are holistically interwoven. They offer space for diversity, creativity and inclusivity of individuals with different interests, backgrounds and talents on their large organic farm. Find out more about the opportunity here.
Lebensbogen: 1st March to 30th October. Lebensbogen is a community of 18 people between the age of 10 and 70, living together united in the goal of living a sustainable lifestyle in harmony with nature. Residents share skills and resources, implement renewable energy, practice organic gardening, and use principles of permaculture. They run collectively owned seminar house and a beautiful organic café where they sell
tasty soups and homemade cakes. Want to join them? ESC volunteers can work in the permaculture gardens, seminar house and cafe – you can find more information here.
