Share Your Gifts at the 2026 European Ecovillage Gathering !
We are thrilled to invite you to submit your workshop(s) for this year’s European Ecovillage Gathering, taking place July 13-18,2026, at the beautiful Nature Community in Germany.
This year’s Gathering theme is To Dare to Trust , we want to highlight the radical act of choosing to trust in each other and our collective capacity in times of uncertainty. Daring to trust is an act of courage and active hope.
We are looking for workshops that embody the spirit of radical trust, whether its trust in one another, in the earth, in the more-than-human world, or beyond. Specifically we are looking for workshops showcasing best practices across all 4 dimensions of regeneration that ecovillages tackle as the living laboratories of experimentation they are:
- Social Workshops: Effective community building; collective governance tools; conflict resolution practices; holistic education approaches; raising children in community; intergenerational relations; community health initiatives, social justice & conscious activism; equity, diversity & inclusion;…
- Ecology Workshops: Permaculture design; agro-ecological systems; wild food foraging; water systems & watershed protection; ecosystem restoration; rewilding projects,…
- Economy Workshops: Solidarity economies; cooperative ownership or commons; ethical pathways for funding ecovillage projects; income models for ecovillages; circular economy / zero waste / reuse; social entrepreneurship; local currencies or barter systems; economics of care vs extraction;…
- Worldview Workshops: Shifting narratives & stories of hope; spiritual ecology or indigenous wisdom; cultural rituals in community; arts & performance for ecological awareness;…
This year we are particularly interested in workshops that build upon the 4 sub-themes of our Gathering:
- Dare to trust one another: building community & solidarity in times of war & polarization by the far right
- Dare to trust the Earth: supporting ecosystems and the more than human world in times of climate & biodiversity collapse
- Dare to trust new economies: designing alternative systems in times where late-stage capitalism is creating obscene inequalities and revolting destruction and oppression
- Dare to trust the future: telling stories of active hope in times where doomerism and fatalism seems to freeze everyone
We are especially interested in proposals that provide a deeper-dive into their topics, workshops that are held in 2 to 4 parts and that feel almost like a mini training course.
We are also interested in workshops for the ecovillage starter stream = workshops that explain to newcomers to the movement what ecovillages are, how to start one, how to join one, things to pay attention to when developing an ecovillage project, etc.
NB: workshops on personal development and conscious relating practices are invited in the morning & evening activities streams, see the call here.
