Vision and Mission

The purpose of GEN Deutschland is to foster connection: Interconnection of German ecovillages for exchange and cooperation as well connection to the wider public. The aim to spread a regenerative lifestyle throughout the four dimensions of sustainability (ecology, economy, culture and social).

About

Gen Deutschland is a sociocratic organization: it is organized in working groups - ‘circles’ as they are often called in Sociocracy. Each circle focuses on one of the four dimensions of sustainability: ecology, economy, social issues and culture. In addition, there is a working group for administration. Represents of each circle meet together with the 3 council members in the management circle in order to coordinate the work. GEN Deutschland aims to share the ecovillage lifestyle and the wisdom with the wider society. In 2022 they created to a podcast with German GEN experts and in 2023 the online conference “anders-besser-leben”. Both projects show cooperation with the wider society as they are funded by the German Agency are funded by the German Federal Environment Agency.
