About

Founded in 1987, ERO is Europe’s oldest national ecovillage network. It was called “Njord” until 2001. After being dormant for some year, the network’s name was changed to “ERO - Ekobyarnas Riksorganisation” in 2010 as part of a process of revival of the network. ERO then also initiated the creation of the transnational network BEN (Baltic Ecovillage Network) in order to foster cross-border cooperation.
