Vision and Mission
BelgEco’s vision mission is to create and promote international links (including with the members of the GEN network) and national links with eco-communities based in Belgium that are intentionally and participatively designed and locally anchored.
About
Funded in 2021, BelgEco is one of the youngest European ecovillage networks. Two Belgian organisations, the Flemish speaking Samenhuizen and the French speaking Habitat de participation created this nation-wide, multilingual network of ecovillages. Crossing language barriers, BelgEco is today entirely run by volunteers and has already enabled 100 young people to participate in Youth Exchanges. Through WESEEN, an exchange project between Eastern and Western European ecovillage networks, set up by GEN Europe with support by Erasmus+, BelgEco has been involved in creating even more connection across borders.
