ADULT EDUCATION ERASMUS+

Do you wish to send residents and activists from your ecovillage or national network to participate in commercial training held by other ecovillages, fully funded by Erasmus+?
The Adult Education program makes this and more possible!
At its heart, Erasmus+ Adult Education supports professional and personal development through international mobility. It enables adults and staff to broaden their skills, build intercultural connections, and strengthen their communities with new skills and knowledge.
Why does it matter for ecovillages and networks?
The Adult Education program offers the means to send staff, volunteers and learners of your organization to take part in different international mobilities, including:
- Job shadowing: observe and learn how other organizations operate. Imagine spending time with another ecovillage’s IT team to see how they use open-source tools for governance and communication, or shadowing their education coordinator to explore new methods of community learning.
- Courses and trainings abroad: support the professional development of staff and volunteers, gaining new tools, perspectives, and skills. For instance, your communication manager can join a storytelling course to better share your ecovillage’s narrative with the world, or a community facilitator could attend a course on conflict transformation to enhance community wellbeing. Find out what courses are currently offered by our network here.
- Inviting experts: host specialists who can enrich your community’s practice. This could be a facilitator in sociocracy, an educator in social inclusion, or a trainer in green transition strategies.
- Teaching and training assignments: share the expertise of your community by sending teachers or trainers to partner organizations abroad.

How can our network benefit from the Adult Education program?
- Expand participation in the many educational courses our network already offers, learning from each other’s areas of expertise.
- Strengthen solidarity and collaboration across Europe.
- Create pathways for residents and activists to grow as educators, facilitators, workers and community leaders.
- Grow and learn as communities, strengthening our resilience and bringing innovation to our organizations.

In other words, Adult Education provides the resources to transform existing strengths into European opportunities, while supporting members in meaningful, life-changing ways.
Your organization doesn’t need any previous experience in Erasmus+ projects in order to apply, and our online info sessions will guide you through the application.
