Building a community is an exciting journey - but from inspiring a team to finding land, from choosing a governance model to conflict resolution, it can also be an immense challenge.
With this in mind, and true to GEN Europe’s aims of promoting and facilitating community-building, the Community Learning Incubator Programme for Sustainability (CLIPS) has been designed by GEN members to address some of the challenges faced by those working on community-led projects. The aim of CLIPS is to offer a framework and tools for approaching community development.
The CLIPS toolkit offers a model for community development and is accompanied by a series of workshops, mentoring and training as well as an online platform with resources, links, examples and tools for both projects and trainers engaged with supporting communities to grow.
CLIPS emerges in the context of a shift towards increased connectedness, cooperation and community where all kinds of collaborative projects and shared economic systems are emerging – from small to big and local to global. We think this emergence of ways to cocreate a more just and sustainable future is necessary to address the challenges of our time, and our hope is that CLIPS will be a useful tool for those undertaking this important work.
The project is co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union in recognition of the need for support for community-based activities. To find out more about the project, visit the CLIPS website.
