From Apartheid to Ecovillages

“ Apartheid is still very alive and kicking with us today. On a global level, people’s access to health care, their life expectancy, their access to education, their freedom of movement, is decided by the passport that they carry…and even in a deeper way. In our mainstream society, we, as the human world, set ourselves apart from the natural world and from the other species that share the planet with us”.

In her TEDx Findhorn talk, Kosha Anja Joubert explores the apartheid of our present-day society. How to heal the gaps between people? Instead of being destructive, how to shift our behavior towards transnational solidarity, sharing and love for life? Kosha reminds us of the future we dream of and how people all across the globe are building it now, following their inner values, focusing on life as a whole and rebuilding the connections that have been broken. We can regenerate the soil, replenish depleted water tables and reconnect in community. We can do this and so much more when we come together and marry our love for the planet with our need to make a living. We can serve life. This is what eco-villages are doing, finding local solutions to global challenges everywhere.
